Jeera rice needs no descrption. I prepare is almost every alternate day since it's too quick to prepare and makes a good meal with just 1 gravy or Dal. Either it's a busy weekday or having guests at home.. Jeera rice is a good choice to prepare among the homemakers.
My way of preparing Jeera Rice is very simple. Rice is cooked with Jeera or Cumin seeds with ghee and some spices and Whoa!! Jeera Rice is ready!!!
Ingredients :
- 1 cup Rice - washed well
- Salt
- 1 tsp Pepper Powder
- 1 tbsp Ghee (you can use refined oil in stead, but ghee gives a nice aroma)
- 1 Bayleaf
- 1 tbsp Jeera/Cumin Seeds
- 1/4 tsp PepperCorn
- Juice of half Lemon
Recipe Details :
✓ Cook the rice till it's 70% cooked. Use lime juice while cooking so that the rice doesn't get sticky. Drain and keep aside.
✓ Now heat a Kadai. Add ghee to it. Once ghee melts, add the spices and saute for few seconds.
✓ Once the spices starts to splutter, add the half cooked rice to it.
✓ Add salt and pepper powder and give everything a good mix keeping the flame medium.
✓ Cook for 2-3 mins more so that rice gets a good flavor and Jeera rice is ready.
