Fish Head Crunched Fry

When we buy a big fish, the big problem for the lady at home is "Fish Head" 😜 what to prepare with it in less time!!!
So usually while buying fish, most people go for Cut Fish pieces in stead of a whole fish even if they have to pay almost double. 


Though there can be many different recipes to prepare from fish head, but most of them might be time consuming and not worth giving so much of effort when it's about just 1-2 pieces of fish head. 
I was in the same dilemma until I tried this recipe with very minimal ingredients, it will be prepared in just 10-15 mins and you will be crazy about buying fish just to get few more fish heads, I bet 😉


Ingredients :

  • 3-4 Fish heads
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Green Chilly Powder
  • Around 4 tbsp Mustard Oil
  • 5-6 Curry Leaves
  • 2 green Chilly, half sliced
  • 1 big Onion - Chopped
  • Crushed Ginger and Garlic
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder (optional)

Recipe Details : 
✓ Wash the fish heads well and keep on a plate.

✓ Add salt, turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Mix well and marinate for 5-10 mins.

✓ Take 2 tbsp oil in a Kadai and fry the marinated fish heads in medium flame until both sides are cooked nicely. Take out on a plate once fried.

✓ In the same kadai, heat oil. Once the oil is hot, add the curry leaves, green chilli and saute for few secs.


✓ Once the onion is slightly fried, add the crushed ginger and garlic and saute for around 20 secs. Add salt to it and give a good stir.

✓ Crush the fish heads using a ginger crusher and add to the kadai.

✓ Mix everything well again and cook in slow flame for around 5 mins. In between don't forget to stir.

✓ After around 5-8 mins, Crunched Fish Head Fry is ready to serve hot as a side dish.
