Grilled Chicken without Oven

Can you guess which is the quickest Chicken recipe loved by every age group of people??
Bolo..... Bolo....!!!! My response: Umm... Grilled Chicken 😉

The chicken thigh pieces marinated in marinade with very few ingredients and cooked correctly... The outcome is juicy, tender, flavorful Grilled Chicken. They can be served as a complete meal with some salads or as a side along with Pasta or Toast.
This preparation uses very less oil, so can be added to a diet meal.

No Oven or lazy to use Oven?? No problem.. "Grilled Chicken without oven" from Panda's Kitchen in today's recipe.

Ingredients :

  • 1 kg Chicken Thigh Piece
  • 2 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 cup Curd / 2 tbsp Lime Juice
  • Salt
  • 2 tsp Red Chilly Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tsp Chicken Masala
  • A pinch of tandoori color (optional)
  • 2 tbsp Cooking Oil (you can use olive oil also)
  • 1 big Charcoal piece
  • 1 tbsp Ghee

Recipe Details :

✓ Make deep cuts randomly all over the chicken pieces with the help of knife so that Masala can penetrate well.

✓ Make a semi-thick paste of ginger garlic paste, curd, salt, red Chilly Powder, turmeric powder, Chicken Masala, food color and 1 tbsp oil.

✓ Take all the chicken pieces on a plate. Using hand, apply the masala paste well all over chicken and mix properly so that the masala gets into the chicken nicely. Keep the marinated chicken aside for 3-4 hours. I usually prefer to keep it in fridge overnight.

✓ Heat oil on a pan. Once oil is hot, Place the marinated chicken pieces carefully along with marinade.

✓  Cook each side in high flame for around 2 mins till each side turns slightly brown in color.

✓ Now switch the flame to low, cover it and cook for around 5 mins. After 5 mins, flip to other side and cook for 5 more mins. Chicken is perfectly cooked now. Switch off the flame and wait for 10 mins before going for the next step.

✓ Next step is to grill the Chicken Pieces. Take a Jali (used for Roti).  Brush it well with oil. Place the cooked thigh pieces one by one and brush the chicken pieces with oil again. This will help chicken to not drying up. Cook on high flame for 20 seconds each side. In between keep flipping side and brush with oil.

✓ Last step is to give the smokey flavor to chicken pieces. Transfer all the grilled thigh pieces to a deep bottom pan. Heat a charcoal piece holding it with the help of a Tong. Once it's hot, keep it in a small bowl and add 1 tbsp ghee on it. Place the small bowl inside pan, where grilled chicken pieces are kept and cover the pan. Let this go for around 10 mins.

✓ Grilled Chicken is ready to serve hot.
