Oats Crepe | Oats Cheela

Skipping breakfast is probably better than having an unhealthy one. A good balanced breakfast keeps you energized and helps not overeating during rest of the day. Also we shouldn't settle for something that leaves us hungry half an hour later. The first choice comes here is "Oats".

Who's unaware of the health benefits of Oats!! It maintains the Cholesterol level keeping the heart problems away. Due to it's high-fiber and low calorie nature, Oats is recommended for a healthy diet food. It keeps the body active for a long time.

But are you bored of the regular sweet flavored Oatmeal ?? Then today's recipe is definitely for you. This has it's own Delicious taste and needs no sides, even kids love it.

Today's recipe from Panda's Kitchen is "Oats Crepe or Cheela", that are quick and easy to whip up in the morning, also serves as any meal of a day.


Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup Oats 
  • 1/4 cup Besan 
  • 2 tbsp Sooji/Rava  
  • Water to make Batter 
  • 1 Onion - finely chopped 
  • 1 Tomato - finely chopped 
  • 1 small Capsicum - finely chopped 
  • 2 Green Chilly - finely chopped 
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilly Powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Amchur Powder 
  • 1 tbsp chopped Coriander Leaves 
  • Salt 
  • Oil to prepare Cheela (I have used olive oil)

Recipe Details :

✓ Dry roast the oats for 2-3 mins. After 2-3 mins transfer it to a mixing bowl and let it cool down. No need to grind them.


 ✓ Add Sooji and Besan to it. Mix them. 


✓ Now add half cup water. Mix everything well. Cover and keep aside for around 15 mins so that the dry ingredients soak water.


✓ To the bowl, add all the other ingredients and give everything a good mix. 


✓ Add water as required and make the batter in flowy consistency. 


✓  Grease the tawa with 1 tsp Oil. Add batter to it and gently spread to form a cheela shape.


✓ Cook it in medium flame for 2 minutes. Add  oil on the top and in sides.

✓ After 2 mins, flip and cook the other side. Cook for around 5-7 mins in medium flame till both the sides turn golden brown.


✓ Repeat the same process for rest of the batter.

✓ Once the Cheela is ready, serve hot with your favorite sides.
