Eggless Whole Wheat Jaggery Cake

For many of us, today's healthy lifestyle is not allowing the room for cake. But if prepared with the right ingredients, Cake is one of the most amazing food in the entire world. It's soft and spongy, It also helps to beat depressions making you happy.

My today's recipe is all about a healthy "Whole Wheat Jaggery cake" made with Atta. It can be prepared using Raggi Flour/Powdered Oats also following the same simple steps.  These cakes are not too sweet, perfect for breakfast or snacks plus they don't need any frosting or extra decoration. Let's start baking !!


 Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Jaggery 
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt 
  • 1/2 Cup Oil 
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon Powder  (or 2 inch cinnamon stick)
  • Few Drops of Vanilla Essence  
  • 2.5 Cups Atta/ Whole Wheat flour  
  • A pinch of salt  
  • 1 tbsp Baking Powder  
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda  
  • 2 tbsp Cocoa Powder (optional) 
  • 1/4 cup Milk to adjust the batter consistency 
  • Some Chopped Dry Fruits and Tutty fruity of your choice

Recipe Details :

✓ Blend yogurt, Jaggery, Oil, cinnamon powder, vanilla essence. Transfer to a Bowl. If you want to add egg, add at this step.


✓ Add Maida, Cocoa Powder, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, salt. Sieve it all to the Yogurt Mixture and start mixing them well.


✓ Add some milk as needed to make a smooth and soft but flowy batter.


✓ Add some chopped dry fruits and mix again well. Now the batter is ready.


✓ Grease the cake tin with oil and sprinkle some flour.



✓ Transfer the cake batter to the tin. Dab it to make the surface plain and synchronous. Add some dry fruits of your choice at the top.


✓ Meanwhile preheat the oven at 180°C . Once the oven is ready, place the cake tin inside oven.

✓ Bake the cake for around 30 mins. After 30 mins, take the tin out and check with the help of a toothpick if the cake is properly baked and the toothpick is coming out clean. If needed, bake for 10 mins more.


✓ Cake is ready. It can be cut into slices and stored for almost a week  in an airtight container.
