 Ingredients :

  • 300 gms Dates (de-seeded)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds/Posto
  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder
  • Around 50gms Chopped Dry Fruits (Cashew, Almond, Pista, Watermelon Seeds)

Recipe Details :

✓ Take the dates in a blender. Grind Coarsely without adding any water. Don't blend too smooth.

✓ Dry roast the poppy seeds for about 2-3 mins in medium flame till it becomes golden brown in color and keep aside.

✓ Heat half of the ghee in a pan. Roast the chopped dry fruits till they become light brown. Take out and keep aside.

✓ Take rest of the ghee on the same pan. Add coarsely grind dates to it. Stir and cook for about 2-4 mins till dates becomes soft.

✓ Add the roasted dry fruits to it now. Mix everything well till they are combined nicely.

✓ To this, add cardamom powder and half of the roasted poppy seeds. Mix all of them together.

✓ Switch off the flame and transfer to a plate. Let it cool down a little.

✓ Now give it the shape of your choice. Either the form of Ladoo or rectangular Burfi or rolls.

✓ I am giving it a cylindrical shape rolling over a Chakla.

✓ Then roll over a layer of dry fruits and poppy seeds again.

✓ Now roll it in an Aluminium foil and seal both ends tightly. Refrigerate it for around 3-4 hours (minimum 1 hour) so that the roll sets well.

✓ Cut into the desired shape of your choice and Dates Burfi is ready.
